Webroot Instructions

Congratulations on your purchase of Webroot Anti-Virus from Performance Computer Group! To get protected in just a few steps, follow these instructions:

1. Update PC Information (Very Important!): Before proceeding with the download and installation, it is crucial to update your PC information for accurate tracking and support. Follow these steps:

   Go to the "About" section of your PC, which can usually be found in the System Settings or Control Panel.
• Change the name of your PC to your first and last name, followed by a unique identifier (e.g., JohnDoe4080 or JaneSmithHP). This step ensures that we can accurately track your information in our system and reach out to you promptly in case any malicious activity is detected.
2. Download Webroot: Locate the email you received from PCG after your purchase. Look for the section titled "Download Instructions" or "Install Webroot." Click on the provided download link. Save the downloaded file to your preferred location on your computer (e.g., Downloads folder).
3. Install Webroot: Double-click the downloaded file (e.g., "Webroot_Installer.exe"). Follow the on-screen instructions to complete the installation process.
4. Locate Webroot: Once installed, Webroot will automatically minimize to the system tray. This is the area in the bottom right corner of your taskbar, usually indicated by a small arrow pointing upwards (^). Look for the green Webroot icon in the system tray. You can optionally drag this icon to your taskbar for easier access.
5. Open Webroot (Optional): Right-click on the Webroot icon in the system tray. Select "Open" from the menu that appears.
6. Initial Scan: Webroot will automatically perform a full system scan upon installation. You can monitor the progress of the scan within the Webroot interface.
7. Congratulations! You are now protected by Webroot Anti-Virus. Webroot will automatically scan your system for threats every day, keeping your computer safe.
