Founded in 1996 by Brett Kappes and Brian Grenier, PCG initially operated as PC Gamers from a modest 800 sq ft space at 3201 South Dale Mabry. The store specialized in buying, selling, and trading popular computer games of the era, from Duke Nukem to Quake, and offered LAN room rentals for competitive play, including Command & Conquer Red Alert. In 1997, after Brian’s departure, Brett rebranded the company to PCGenerations, marking a shift towards becoming the premier destination for the latest in technology.
By 2004, PCGenerations evolved into Performance Computer Group (PCG) with a focus on high-end custom desktops and business-to-business sales. We relocated to 1155 South Dale Mabry and expanded with additional locations in Carrollwood and Brandon. Today, PCG provides a comprehensive range of IT services to businesses and residents across the Tampa Bay area, including troubleshooting, desktop support, software installation, and network security.
